I am an Assistant Professor in the English department and Women’s Studies program at the University of New Hampshire. I am also a Core Faculty member in the Justice Studies program. My research interests are African-American literature and culture, feminist and queer theories, critical prison studies, and capital punishment. My current project is Apprehending Black Womanhood: Gender, Literature, and the Carceral State.
In addition to teaching at UNH, I also lead a book discussion group at the Northern New Hampshire Correctional Facility in Berlin, New Hampshire. This group is supported by the New Hampshire Humanities Council.
